Leather hackamore with small flat stainless steel shanks

Moderate leverage: Thanks to its small, slightly curved flat shanks, this hackamore offers measured leverage that acts primarily on the horse's nose and poll. The effect is amplified or softened depending on the hand action and the tightness of the curb chain.
Calfskin lining: for softer, more comfortable contact on the nasal bone. The protective side flaps effectively prevent rubbing caused by the shanks on the horse's skin.

A hackamore is particularly suitable for horses:
• that do not tolerate bits in their mouths,
• with oral sensitivities or injuries,
• or for riders who want to diversify their equipment without sacrificing control.

It is also popular for outdoor riding, schooling at home, or in disciplines where a bitless contact is desired.

Hackamore fitting:
Position the noseband on the horse's nasal bone, about two finger-widths below the zygomatic arch (top of the nostrils). The side pieces should lie flat against the sides of the chanfrein.
Attach the bridle cheek pieces to the upper rings of the hackamore.

Curb strap adjustment:
This model is sold without a curb chain – it is therefore necessary to add a suitable chain, rope, or leather curb strap, adjusted to maintain just enough tension to engage the leverage effect without causing injury.

Rein adjustment:
The reins attach to the lower rings of the hackamore. Adjust their length so that contact is made gently, without excessive tension at rest.
